Amazing Lace Episode 1

An early harvest in Napa leads to a ripening partnership between teammates Carol and Rowan. Together they will tackle a blend of stitches to create a new vintage of Grannie Smith Dewberry.

Picking and casting on are planned for this week, so fermentation is expected to start by this weekend at the latest. For those of you not familiar with the process, fermentation is the conversion of yarn fibers into knitted fabric. However this will be a slow, controlled ferment as opposed to a rapid, out of control one. Carol does not want things to get out of hand and run the risk of any off-flavors or misplaced stitches.

When asked if she had any concerns about her teammate, Carol replied confidently, "No way. I think Rowan and I are well matched and ripe for any challenges that may develop. Rowan is a diamond in the rough, but with a little finessing the pieces should seam together. I don't think we'll encounter many frogs."

This is the first time that Carol and Rowan have worked together. They met through mutual friends and have always admired each others previous projects. Stay tuned for future episodes.

if everyone lept off a bridge...

I would not blog about it. But if someone started a KAL, I might join.

Hence, my blog. Random, not too personal, sometimes substantial. Hopefully full of FOs.
